Binta is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Social Services at The University of Vermont. She focuses on training elementary education teachers to teach across the disciplines by integrating social studies and the arts in the curriculum. Her basic philosophy is that everything is connected. She recently published a book with her husband titled, Resilience and Success: the Professional Journeys of African American Women Scientists. In her spare time, she is working on her certificates in botanical illustration at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx and as a New England Master Gardener.
