Emily Hoyler, Curriculum Specialist
Curriculum Specialist

Emily left the classroom and joined the Shelburne Farms education team in 2011 as an educator and curriculum specialist, working with the Sustainable Schools Project as well as many of Shelburne Farms’ other educational and professional development programs.  Since returning to teaching in the fall of 2014 (teaching third grade at the Bingham Memorial School in Cornwall, VT), Emily is now exploring the realities of implementing education for sustainability in a public school.  While her time at the Farm is limited these days, she returns frequently to co-facilitate (and participate in) professional development programs, and continues to write for Farm publications. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, and a Masters in Education with a concentration in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University.
