Nourish Vermont: Traditional Foods and Health Gathering
Come learn the core principles of traditional diets and explore how lifestyle and the environment in which you live impacts health. This year’s theme is Quantum Health: The Effects of Sound, Light & Food.
Hosted at Shelburne Farms, Nourish Vermont is a program generously funded by The Forrest C. and Frances H. Lattner Foundation.
Childcare: Childcare is available all day Saturday. Please contact Tre McCarney, firstname.lastname@example.org to register. (Children must be toilet trained).
Meals: Food served will align with the principles presented by the speakers, including nutrient-dense, locally and organically grown vegetables, pastured and grass–fed meat, raw dairy products, and fermented vegetables all skillfully prepared by Frank Pace of Great Northern.
Exhibitors & Marketplace: Local and regional producers, therapeutic practitioners, and Nourish Vermont sponsoring organizations and businesses will be tabling in the East Hall. Many items will be for sample and for sale including fermented beverages and vegetables, pastured dairy products, cod liver oil, and raw milk.
Friday, June 2 - 7:00 PM
Join us for the first private screening of Unbound, a film about living an optimized life. Find more information at www.unboundmovie.com. This Nourish Vermont event is FREE and open to the public.
Saturday, June 3 - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Eileen McKusick: The Electric Universe, Syntropy and Your Wave Sense
What if what you believed about the fundamental nature of life, the universe and everything has actually been limited, and that limitedness has been having a non beneficial impact on your health and well-being?
In this talk, we will explore concepts you might not have been exposed to yet that will change the whole way you look at the world. Frontier researcher Eileen McKusick, MA will introduce Electric Universe Theory, a whole new cosmology that challenges Big Bang Theory; Syntropy, the opposite force of entropy; and primary cilia and microtubules, the antennae on your cell membranes that receive and transmit vibrations.
Eileen Day McKusick, author of Tuning the Human Biofield, has been studying the effects of audible sound on the human body since 1996. She is the creator of Biofield Tuning, a unique sound therapy method that works on our electric/electronic systems to “get the noise out of the signal”.
Chris Masterjohn: Trace Minerals and Human Health
This presentation will explore the the work of Weston Price, showing why nutrient dense foods are so important to human health. Taking a deep dive into the biological role of trace minerals in human health, with a focus on minerals that have wide variability in foods as a result of soil variability, such as selenium, copper, and iodine. Strategies to spot deficiencies and fix them will also be addressed.
Chris Masterjohn earned his PhD in Nutritional Sciences in 2012 from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2014, and served as Assistant Professor of Health and Nutrition Sciences at Brooklyn College from 2014 to 2016. He now works independently in health and nutrition research, education, and consulting. Chris has authored or co-authored ten peer-reviewed publications. His podcast, Mastering Nutrition, his two video series, Chris Masterjohn Lite and Masterclass With Masterjohn, and his blog can all be found on his web site at chrismasterjohnphd.com. Ruben Salinas: Quantum Biology and Human Health
In this session, we will explore the latest thinking regarding Quantum Biology and Human Health. Specifically, we will introduce the application of quantum mechanics and theoretical chemistry to human biology.
In an easy to understand way, Ruben will explain how many biological processes involve the conversion of energy into forms that are usable for chemical transformations and are quantum mechanical in nature. From light absorption, formation of excited electronic states, transfer of excitation energy, through to the transfer of electrons and protons in chemical processes such as photosynthesis and cellular respiration; Ruben will take a most complex topic and simplify its application in every day life to achieve optimum health.
Specifically, we will cover:
- What is “Quantum Biology” and how we can use the latest scientific understanding of our quantum-state existence and the unseen fields that determine our physical condition
- How to achieve true integrative care by combining Eastern energetic modalities with Western scientific rigor to yield optimum results
- What we now know about the human energy field including the role of meridians, chakras and other energetic structures in our overall health
- Energy-based principles from the world’s healing traditions–including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda, Reiki, Martial Arts, and others
- How less traditional healing techniques such as phototherapy, sound therapy, acupuncture, hypnosis, and electrotherapy work through an invisible common source: the body’s electrical system
- Practical ways to re-engineer our personal environments to defend ourselves against the hazardous effects of deleterious light frequencies and electromagnetic pollution, as well as how to use the healing power of electromagnetism by seeing the body in its total living environment—the earth’s electromagnetic field
Ruben Salinas is an award-winning medical technology entrepreneur, inventor, and angel investor. Since graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School, he has acquired and successfully sold two medical equipment companies, and started 3 others in the health and wellness space. As an engineer, he has a proven track record of innovative product development in the areas of spectroscopy, medical devices and diagnostics. He is also the named inventor of multiple patent applications, as well as a member of MENSA, the world-renowned high IQ society. Over the last few years, Ruben has researched and tested a number of methods to optimize the human brain and body by using Quantum Biology principles. His experience and findings have been documented and artistically-rendered in a full-length documentary film directed by Benjamin Smith, an acclaimed and award-winning Director with kilO hoteL films.
Dr. Jack Kruse: Your Eyes Create the Reality You Get in Life
It is not our genes but rather the epigenetic expression of those genes that determines our health and the environment in which we live plays a critical role. Changing our diet is a good start but it is equally important to change the toxic environment in which we live to achieve optimal health. Take a deep dive into the science behind 165 million years of mammalian evolution and find out what went wrong with our modern world and what we can do about it. Beyond the Epi-Paleo Rx, a prescription for optimal health, explore why light, water and magnetism are necessary to achieve our genetic potential. Learn why our environment trumps the food we eat, how sunlight affects hormones, and how blue light disrupts circadian rhythms. Explore how non native EMFs and and a lack of connection to the earth are currently destroying our health. Learn ways to hack your environment to mitigate these dangers. From this perspective, learn why it is important to eat seasonally, why cold is important- the Cold Thermogenesis protocol, and how our loss of connection to the natural world, from sunlight, earthing, seasonal temperature and light cycles are causing the diseases of the modern world.
