Exploring aquatic ecosystems can help spark student enthusiasm for science. During this workshop for K-12 teachers, we'll investigate a pond and a stream on the campus of Castleton State College using ecologists' tool such as nets, magnifiers, and field guides. We'll share student activities that align with the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Each teacher will receive a Certificate of Participation to document professional development hours. For more information and to register, please contact Jennifer Guarino at jguarino556@gmail.com or 802-728-9135.

This is one in a series of free workshops sponsored by VT-SWEEP and the Vermont Agency of Education. Workshops link the new standards with the places we love and are hosted by SWEEP member sites.  For a complete listing of times, dates, and locations please see this flyer
