Welcome, preK–12 and non-formal educators! The Shelburne Farms Institute for Sustainable Schools offers transformative programs and resources for you and your students to help inspire an emerging generation of changemakers.

Our Approach

Education for Sustainability links knowledge, inquiry, and action while cultivating a sense of joy and wonder for the world around us. Our offerings for you–and for your students–focus on equity-centered food systems and climate change education, community and place-based learning, and youth engagement and action to help learners build healthier communities and a healthier planet, now and in the future.

Our Farm to School & Early Childhood Programs

We're delighted to support the 2025 National Farm to Cafeteria Conference! Since 2000, Vermont FEED, our partnership project with NOFA-VT, has been instrumental in advancing farm to school in the region and country.
